The Truth is Hard to Face
-
Power
Power corrupts. And it lies to distract people from its pursuit of more power. The bigger our government has become, the more it is dominated by the pursuit of power and money.
-
Regulation
Every time government sets out to prohibit or control something, it gives itself more power. Inevitably, the biggest players get in on the game, and the rules get made under their influence. Time and time again, the big companies, the well-funded nonprofits, the politicians with the most seniority - those who profit from the status quo - end up protected, while the little guy, the small businesses, the honest players - the regular people - get saddled with yet another burden.

Media
The free press was conceived as a counterbalance to government. The first amendment was designed to protect the right to criticize and comment on the facts, scandals, results and debates about what was gong on in the country, especially about what the government was doing. When the media decides that it’s their job to advance government aims and suppress criticism, our liberty is in danger.
